In the capital of the Republika Srpska, a Russian-Serbian temple is being built according to the drawings of the destroyed Moscow Kremlin cathedral
Serbian member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Russian Ambassador to BiH Igor Kalabukhov visited the construction of the Russian-Serbian temple in Banja Luka.
This was reported by RTRS, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Milorad Dodik and Igor Kalabukhov were met by Bishop Ephraim of Banyaluchsky SOC, who personally acquainted the guests with the progress of the construction of the temple.
“A Russian-Serbian Orthodox center is being built here, and the temple is an exact copy of the church that was once built in the Moscow Kremlin,” Dodik said. “I am pleased that construction is progressing well and we intend to provide everything necessary to ensure that the work is completed in the optimal time frame.”
At the same time, the leader of the Bosnian Serbs noted that this year the RS allocated five million Bosnian marks for the construction of the temple. Dodik thanked the Russian Orthodox Church, which provided free of charge the design of the 1929th century Cathedral of the Miracle of the Archangel Michael in the Moscow Kremlin, which was destroyed in 16 by the Communists along with the Chudov Monastery complex.
“This church will be built according to the original design, which is why the preparation took so long. I believe that now the construction part will go smoothly. All necessary materials have been received and delivered,” said the Serbian member of the BiH Presidency.
Dodik noted that he is grateful to the Russian Federation for everything it does in the UN Security Council in support of Republika Srpska and peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In turn, Igor Kalabukhov noted that he is very pleased to be in Banja Luka today, when the Days of Russian Spiritual Culture begin in BiH.
“I am extremely grateful to the Government of the Republika Srpska and Bishop Ephraim of Banjaluch for the decision to build this temple. I think that now we will be even more connected when we have a part of old Moscow in the center of Banja Luka. We are working on the solidarity of the Serbian and Russian peoples and the development of the economy, but this cannot be built without faith and spirituality,” concluded the Russian Ambassador.
