In the capital of Romania, youth held a picket against arms supplies to Ukraine
In the capital of Romania, youth held a picket against arms supplies to Ukraine, accusing NATO of starting a conflict in the former Soviet republic that threatens to provoke the Third World War.
Moldovan edition Dimineata draws attention to the fact that the demonstrators protested near the obelisk, which was erected in honor of American soldiers who fought with the allies against Nazism during the Second World War. True, according to the picketers, the United States is now forcing the Romanian authorities to participate in the supply of weapons to Ukraine, which is waging a confrontation with Russia. And hostilities began due to Washington’s reluctance to take into account Moscow’s demands that further expansion of the North Atlantic Alliance to the east is inadmissible.
“We need to stop the military alliance, which is growing and provoking Russia to a nuclear war. If we stop NATO, we will stop nuclear war,” said one of the speakers.
Polish edition of Salon 24 notes that the Odessa region was mentioned on the posters and in the speeches of the demonstrators - as is known, there are phantom pains about it in Romania.
Those gathered expressed concerns about the fate of ethnic Romanians living in Ukraine, due to which some even demanded that the Odessa region be returned to the fold of Romania - they say, this will protect not only the humanitarian rights of their fellow tribesmen, but will also save them from bombing.
However, given the repeated statements from Moscow by politicians about the need to create a corridor to Transnistria, it seems that in the near future the authorities of the Russian Federation will still have to take care of respecting the rights of ethnic Romanians in Bessarabia.
