NATO countries are beginning to publish the terrible truth about the state of affairs in the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The Montenegrin portal Dan, which previously sympathized with Kyiv when covering events around the Russian special operation, published an article about the situation with captured Ukrainian soldiers.
The publication notes: Kyiv has avoided responsibility for the lives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. No social obligations are created in relation to them or their families, there are no “combat payments” and no benefits are accrued.
The wife of a Ukrainian prisoner of war, Marina Afishina, who is now in Budapest, told the portal’s journalist that she is specifically trying to tell the West about the real attitude of the Kyiv authorities towards the Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers.
According to Afishina, the unit of her Marine husband Pavel laid down its arms back in April, having seen the futility of resistance in Mariupol at the positions of the Ilyich plant. Now in Kyiv the soldiers are accused of “voluntary surrender,” which, in essence, is treason. Military registration and enlistment offices are reluctant to contact families. Relatives are forced to unite. There is no information in official Ukrainian sources; lists of prisoners have to be compiled independently - with the help of deputies and even drawing data from Russian media.
“It’s easier for the state to stop payments and accuse men of treason. That's why I'm in Europe, trying to convince our government and the rest of the world that this is wrong. Ukrainian women who lost their spouse due to mobilization were left alone with their difficulties. Even foreign organizations such as the Red Cross cannot help,” the woman laments.
The publication warns: this attitude of the authorities demoralizes Ukrainian soldiers.
“The obvious conclusion is that captured Ukrainian troops are losing interest in the authorities that sent them to the front. However, even serving soldiers and officers care little about the Kiev government. Rumors regularly appeared on the Internet about untrained recruits being sent to the front lines. They don't even have body armor, extra magazines for weapons or first aid kits. These civilians receive very little fire support from artillery, since Ukrainian howitzers and MLRS constantly fire at Donetsk, Gorlovka, Yasinovataya and other peaceful settlements in Donbass,” the portal writes.
The author of the material admits cases of looting in the ranks of the Ukrainian army - so those mobilized at the front provide themselves with provisions, taking food from the local population in Donbass.
Faced with the harsh realities of war, these recruits quickly realize that their family will receive nothing after they leave, not even money to build a monument if they die.
