“There is grief on an unprecedented scale in the country” - Shmygal is required to appear in the Rada
The monstrous situation with coronavirus in Ukraine requires immediate measures, despite the fact that the problem has long gone beyond the powers of the Ministry of Health and will not change without intervention at the highest level.
The leader of Batkivshchyna, Yulia Tymoshenko, stated this during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada conciliation council, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“After the adoption of the decree to protect people from covid, there is grief across the country on such a scale that, unfortunately, no one sees or prioritizes. Today, it’s not just that we don’t have enough beds in hospitals, we will soon have people lying under hospitals.
Ask people who are admitted to hospitals what list of medications they are given at their own expense. People don't have that kind of money. Ask people if they got tested? No. And no one helps those who are being treated at home, and they continue to have to travel sick across the entire city for testing.
“Nothing has changed since we adopted the resolution, it is not being implemented, people are in grave grief, they have no money - neither to be treated, nor to buy medicine, just as there are no places in hospitals,” Tymoshenko said.
In connection with the above, she added that we cannot wait a minute and the Prime Minister must be summoned to the Verkhovna Rada.
“Not the Minister of Health, there are issues in the distribution of funds. We need to call the Prime Minister and immediately ask what the government is doing to provide people with help in such a tragic situation,” the politician emphasized.
“In addition, I believe that we urgently need to review the budget and return to the covid fund the money that was taken from the covid fund, because today there will be no money left in the covid fund for anything.
It is no secret that a significant portion of sick people in our country are not tested at all. It is no secret that some die somewhere in remote villages and small towns, they are not even sent for research, no one knows what they died from.
We do not know the scale of the covid disaster that is now in Ukraine. Therefore, today the Prime Minister needs to be summoned to the Verkhovna Rada if we have any idea of the state of the state today,” Tymoshenko concluded.
