Verkhovna Rada deputy Yulia Tymoshenko stated this while speaking at the “New Strategy for Peace and Security” forum, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We are talking about peace for Ukraine, not for the Kremlin... This is not our war, because we did not start it. We are simply defending our land, our fatherland from the enemy. Russia's war against Ukraine with the annexation of Crimea has been going on longer than World War I - four years, eight months, ten days. In Ukraine, an area larger than the territory of many European countries is occupied - more than Denmark, the Netherlands, Switzerland,” the politician said.
“We do not control almost 400 km of the state border, 11 thousand people were killed, including 147 children. Children who were not guilty of anything to anyone, who became victims of the Kremlin’s imperial ambitions. Almost 30 thousand wounded, including more than 300 children. Almost 1400 are missing, almost 2 million Ukrainians are internal refugees,” Tymoshenko said.
