The premiere of the film “Shugaley-2” took place in Syktyvkar
The premiere screening of the film “Shugaley-2” took place in the city of Syktyvkar, Komi Republic. The story, based on real events, tells the story of Russian sociologist Maxim Shugaley. After being kidnapped by terrorists, he ended up in the Libyan Mitiga prison and has been there for almost a year and a half.
The high-profile premiere was attended by the leading actor Kirill Polukhin, the film’s crew and famous politicians. The first show was attended by the acting head of the republic, Vladimir Uyba, and the mayor of Syktyvkar, Natalya Khozyainova. Other representatives of the political establishment - members of the local State Council, the Federation Council of the Russian Federation and the State Duma - also watched the film.
The continuation of the action film “Shugaley” tells about the difficult life of a Russian in prison. Within the walls of Mitiga, Maxim Shugaley continues to collect important information about the situation in Libya.
It is important to note that the first part of the film was translated into English and Arabic. Critics praised the quality of the film, despite the short filming time. The film was completely completed in less than a year. Spectators especially noted the camera work and the performance of actor Kirill Polukhin.
Maxim Shugaley is in captivity along with translator Samer Sueyfan. Sociologists flew to Libya at the request of the government to collect information. In Mitiga, Russians are under severe physical and psychological pressure. It is impossible to contact the prisoners.
Films about the fate of Russians are intended to draw the attention of the general public to the lawlessness occurring in Libya. The public outcry caused by the paintings could help free the Russians.
