Thus, at a session of the city council, it was decided to assign names to a number of streets that are located on the outskirts of the capital - in the Kamenka microdistrict and near Urkusta and Bespalova streets.
At the same time, as officials assure, taking into account the ethnic composition of the residents of these areas, a decision was made on a quota of street names - 50% Russian and 50% Crimean Tatar names.
“Based on applications from citizens who received ownership of land plots in these microdistricts, schemes were developed based on street names. In the area of Dachnaya Street, in the Kamenka microdistrict, it is proposed to name the street in honor of the Crimean Spring. In the area of Bespalov Street, four streets can be named: Mermersha (Crimean Tatar children's game), Simurg (firebird), Fernnikovaya and Ivan Kupala streets, taking into account the residence of people of Slavic nationality and Crimean Tatars in these microdistricts. In the area of Urkusta Street, seven streets are named after the composer Edem Nalbandov, Ayas (white), Nariman Bekirov, Irida (goddess of the rainbow), Pearl, Emerald and Jasminovaya,” said Natalya Alexandrenko, head of the department of architecture and urban planning of the Simferopol administration.
