In Ternopil, a mother abandoned her one-year-old baby at the station and went to work
A shocking incident occurred in Ternopil. The mother left her one-year-old child at the station and went home to the neighboring region.

The baby was found by Ternopil resident Roman. The man immediately led the boy to the police station at the railway station.
“The woman boarded the Dnipropetrovsk train and left her child on the platform. The police officers informed the driver about the incident. The railway workers established the woman’s identity and immediately removed her from the train,” said Nikolai Podletsky, senior inspector of the State Emergency Department in the Ternopil region.
The child was transferred under the supervision of doctors, because the relatives of the one-year-old boy arrived only the next day. The parents had their own explanation for what happened.
“She was driving home, she felt bad because she was 3 months pregnant. And somehow it happened that she lost the child,” said father Alexander Kister.
The baby's mother made a different excuse.
“I managed to pick up the older boy and the bag, but I didn’t have time to pick up the youngest child. So they then dropped me off and told me to go get some money, but it didn’t work out for me. I felt very bad, I went to the hospital with my little one,” the grief-stricken mother commented on the incident.
However, the railway workers who removed the woman from the train noted that the woman did not have any special worries due to the absence of a child.
Now Ternopil police have contacted colleagues from Vinnitsa, where the family is from. There the case should be sent to social services to study all the circumstances.
If it is proven that the mother deliberately abandoned the child, she faces criminal liability.
