The press service of the Ternopil Regional State Administration reported that this is due to the fact that a lot of honored guests were invited to the event, so there was not enough space for the press. The press service of the regional state administration could not explain who compiled the list of journalists and according to what criteria.
More than 60 journalists were accredited to present the governor; only a third were allowed into the session hall where the meeting took place. The rest of the press watched the broadcast of the event from a monitor in the Regional State Administration premises.
Also, in advance, journalists were asked to come to the meeting with the President not only with an identification card, but also with a passport, the ZiK publication reports.
At the same time, local media write that those journalists who were not too loyal to the previous governor were not allowed to meet with Poroshenko. Even the Voice of Ukraine’s own correspondent was among the banned journalists.
