How to sell a container with cesium: 5 thousand euros for a thermos
Ternopil, September 23 (PolitNavigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – A resident of Ternopil who tried to sell an ordinary food thermos under the guise of a container with radioactive cesium was sentenced to two years.

According to the press service of the regional prosecutor's office, the accused read on the Internet about the radioactive element cesium and its market value. Having been impressed, I decided to “fake” this chemical element and sell it to a foreigner I knew.
Having received confirmation from the buyer of his intention to purchase the goods, the attacker took an ordinary cylindrical food thermos and painted it silver. Using a computer and a color printer, he made a sticker with the symbol of radioactive substances and pasted it on the side of the thermos.
The man valued the manufactured container, which contained a control element from a dosimeter weighing 2 grams, at 5 thousand euros. Law enforcement officers detained him at the moment of transferring “cesium” to the buyer.
Based on this fact, the prosecutor's office sent an indictment to the court under Part 1 of Art. 14 (preparation for a crime) and part 2 of Art. 190 (fraud) of the Criminal Code.
The Ternopil city district court sentenced the swindler to 2 years of restriction of freedom.
