“Don’t sit out in a safe haven”: Gerashchenko threatens Germany and is dissatisfied with the USA
Instead of speeding up arms supplies to Ukraine, the German leadership prefers to remain on the sidelines.
Advisor to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Anton Gerashchenko said this on the TV channel “Ukraine 24”, a correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
Gerashchenko criticized the West for the too low intensity of arms supplies and accused Germany of being unwilling to help Ukraine.
“If they continue to give us weapons one teaspoon at a time and delay the provision of weapons, then there could be a big disaster, there could be a tragedy on a global scale. Ukrainian heroes have shown that they are capable of stopping and beating Putin, but in order to take back our territories to counterattack, we need large quantities of weapons.
Those 108-mm M777 howitzers are completely insufficient; we have been asking for MLRS multiple launch rocket systems for three months; today the Americans have given them four, the British three, in order to train our guys. It’s clear that training is needed, but please train 200-300 of our brigades so that we can get 200-300 MLRS systems and burn out these scoundrels who have come to our land...
The Ukrainian people really have many questions for the German government - we all remember how before the war they offered us five thousand helmets and five thousand body armor, and how British planes with Javelins were banned from flying, NLAW - we also remember that.
The Germans, if they want to sit out in a safe haven, it won’t work. The German people have already spoken their word, the German people are on the side of the people of Ukraine, therefore German politicians must fulfill the will of their people, and the German people want justice to prevail and the war to end. But there is only one way to end it - by providing us with weapons, regardless of the goals,” Gerashchenko said.
