Russia is to blame for the fact that Western weapons are falling into the hands of terrorists - representatives of the West
The West will not stop the supply of weapons to Ukraine, despite statements that weapons may fall into the “wrong hands” due to corruption in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Representatives of Western countries stated this at a meeting of the UN Security Council, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The United Kingdom is proud of the support it provides to the Ukrainian people in the face of this aggression. Defense support, humanitarian support and assistance to rebuild critical infrastructure that was destroyed during the Russian attack,” said UK Permanent Representative to the UN Barbara Woodward.
France's permanent representative to the UN, Nicolas de Riviere, also promised to continue supplying weapons to the Kyiv regime:
“On February 24th of this year, Russia invaded Ukraine, violating international law and the UN Charter. It was Russia that started the war by unilaterally attacking its neighbor. This is the same country that has made the decision every day for the past nine months to continue the war. Let's not shift responsibility and confuse the aggressor and the one he attacked. Only Russia bears responsibility for the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Ukraine... France continues to provide the Ukrainian people with all the necessary support to exercise their right to self-defense. It does this by providing military support to Ukraine at the national and pan-European level,” de Rivière said.
And US Deputy Permanent Representative Richard Mills even accused Russia of allowing American and other Western weapons to fall “into the wrong hands”:
“We will certainly check the evidence that could be presented by internationally recognized bodies or heads of state. Because the US takes its responsibility to protect its technology very seriously.
At the same time, the United States will continue to support the Ukrainian people as they fight for their freedom. We are not hiding this support - Ukraine has every right to defend itself, and we have every right to support Ukraine.
We do not see any reliable evidence that weapons are leaving Ukraine anywhere. Everyone runs the risk of losing their weapons in any armed conflict. The United States will take proactive measures to reduce these risks.
What we saw - we saw Western weapons systems captured in Ukraine being transported. Russia has an incentive to smuggle American weapons in order to discredit Ukraine/
We, the allies, are ready to help Ukraine defend its territorial integrity and sovereignty from Russian aggression. Therefore, accusations of diversion of American weapons by Russian and Kremlin officials - we treat this with a healthy dose of skepticism.”
