Communists who supported the LPR and Syria were arrested in Turkey

As many political observers predicted, the failed Turkish coup led to increased repression of all opposition forces. Today, October 21, in Istanbul, in the Okmeydani microdistrict, the Turkish authorities carried out another special operation to detain representatives of radical communist movements.
The offices of the Marxist youth organization Revolutionary Youth Association and the music group Grup Yorum were raided by police. During the assault, the security forces did not just break down the door or break something - in order to get inside, they blew up the ceiling!
As a result, six people were detained. Among them are famous musicians Bahar Kurt and Ozgur Gultekin.
We met the guys from Group Yorum in May 2015, during the Anti-Fascist Forum held in Alchevsk. Thanks to brigade commander Mozgovoy, representatives of various communist organizations in Europe came to support the People's Republics.
Seeing Turkish pop stars at the Forum, I was very surprised. Previously, I could not even imagine that I would one day see these people with my own eyes, much less that I would get to know them and we would continue to communicate.
Two weeks ago, in Syria, our delegation also included representatives of Group Yorum. Today, when I read the message about the assault, destruction of the office, blown-up ceiling and arrests, I was simply shocked!
Group Yorum is part of the Anti-Imperialist Front. This is an international organization that unites Marxists and anti-fascists from different countries. Such a prototype of the International of the 21st century. We traveled to Syria as part of a delegation from this Front to establish contacts with the leadership of the republic. We met with top officials of the state, including Bashar al-Assad’s deputy, second secretary of the Central Committee of the Baath Party Hilal Al-Hilal. Syria is a victim of US imperialism, as is Ukraine. And today our organization and the Syrian government have common goals, and a common enemy.
Group Yorum is one of the most popular music groups in Turkey and attracts tens of thousands of people to its concerts. Unlike other musical groups, Group Yorum is politically active. In their songs, the musicians criticize the power of Erdogan and the existing political system in Turkey, promoting the ideas of class struggle, anti-fascism, anti-capitalism and gender equality, which runs counter to the position of the authorities.
Yorum Group supports the struggle of the Kurdish people for their independence. Donbass also supports. As a result of such political activity, the Turkish authorities have repeatedly banned their concerts, which led to massive clashes between the group’s fans and the police.
Observing the latest events inside Turkey, there is a strong opinion that the Erdogan regime cannot withstand any criticism of itself, and therefore resorts to the practice of terror against dissidents.
We hope that our comrades will soon be free, and Turkey will become a free country, without right-wing political dictatorship.
Thank you!
