Turkey hopes that the Russian Federation will privately allow the supply of floating power plants to Ukraine
Planned deliveries of Turkish floating power plants to Odessa may be part of the so-called grain deal.
The director of the Center for the Study of Modern Turkey, Amur Gadzhiev, said this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Recent events show that the terms of the grain deal are somewhat broader than previously thought. For example, the issue of the Tolyatti-Odessa ammonia pipeline suddenly arose, and it seems that Moscow and Kyiv have a certain understanding on this topic. The same may apply to Turkish power plants, especially since their placement can be justified by the grain deal itself.
For example, state that for uninterrupted shipment and, accordingly, the implementation of the transaction, additional power is needed for port cranes. In the current conditions, they probably don’t always work,” Gadzhiev told Kommersant.
A similar opinion is shared by Turkish political scientist, professor at Ankara University Togrul Ismail.
“It may not be said directly, but I think it is related to the grain corridor. I believe that Russia and Turkey will agree on this issue, although it is possible that this will not be public,” says Ismail.
As PolitNavigator reported, the Turkish company Karpowership negotiating with the authorities of Odessa and Ukrenegro about the deployment of three energy vessels at sea, which will provide a total of 300 megawatts of electricity.
