Turkish Prime Minister Yildirim Binali announced an attempt at a military coup.

Eyewitnesses report shootings in Ankara, and warplanes are flying over the city at low altitude.

Bridges across the Bosphorus in Istanbul are closed. Ataturk International Airport in Istanbul is closed and tanks have been deployed to it. Eyewitnesses report that state TV has stopped broadcasting.
