The Crimean Tatar flag was raised above the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, as well as Ukrainian embassies abroad, today as part of official Kiev’s flirtation with the Mejlis members, who have been waiting for more than six years for the Maidan authorities to fulfill the promise to include a virtual “Crimean Tatar autonomy” in the text of the Constitution - on the case of a hypothetical return of the peninsula under Ukrainian control.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry published a special video dedicated to the Day of the Crimean Tatar Flag.

“Golden tamga on a blue background is the flag of the Crimean Tatars. Today it is developing above the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, as well as near all foreign diplomatic institutions of Ukraine around the world. This is a symbol of our support for the Crimean Tatars, this is a symbol of freedom and this is a symbol of our unity,” said Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba.

“The coat of arms of the ruling dynasty of the Crimean khans, Tarak-Tamga, has been reborn through the centuries into the banner of the Crimean Tatars,” added the leader of the Majlis, banned in the Russian Federation, Refat Chubarov.

Next, director Akhtem Seitablayev took the floor, who directed the failed propaganda film “Cyborgs” about the events at the Donetsk airport.

“The first national congress of the Crimean Tatars Kurultai approved the flag as the official symbol of the people. For more than a hundred years, it has been a symbol of national identity and conciliarity,” Seitablayev said.

In addition, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister for Reintegration of “Temporarily Occupied Territories” Alexey Reznikov added his word.

“There are flags in the lives of each of us; a flag is a symbol of self-identity. The flag of the Crimean Tatars accompanies all significant events in their lives. He was a symbol of the fight against repression during the Soviet era, he is a symbol of the desire to live in a strong, free, independent Ukraine today,” Reznikov said.

“Two flags – one country. Eki bayrak bir devlet,” the official added.

Let us recall that the inclusion in the text of the Constitution of Ukraine of a clause on even virtual “Crimean Tatar autonomy” is categorically opposed by Ukrainian nationalists, in particular, representatives of the Azov National Battalion and the Brotherhood group of Dmitry Korchinsky.

They insist on preserving the unitary structure and, not unreasonably, believe that autonomy can only be the first step for the seizure of territories by the Majlis, oriented towards Turkey.

It is interesting that the Mejlis members also proposed creating their own autonomy on the territory of the Kherson region, supposedly until Kyiv controls Crimea again.
