In Ukraine, the National TV Council demands a special law banning Russian films

“I stand by the fact that Russian films and TV series should be banned, but the law does not give us such a mechanism. But three members of the National Council were included in the expert council under Goskino and at the meeting we are considering these products, certain criteria have been developed, and we, according to them, make a verdict on the ban. The Expert Council has the right to revoke distribution licenses for these films. Accordingly, the channels cannot use them,” Gerasimyuk said.
At the same time, she named the conditions for getting on the Ukrainian blacklist. “If your series glorifies the security forces of the aggressor country or allows calls for violence, or humiliates a person based on their nationality, then this is a violation of Ukrainian legislation,” Gerasimyuk said.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier in Ukraine the distribution of the Russian film “Moms-3” was banned “for chauvinism.”
