Kyiv, September 13 (PolitNavigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – There is no reason to talk about default in Ukraine, despite forecast indicators and low credit ratings.

This was stated by the head of the NBU Valeria Gontareva during the 11th meeting of the “Yalta European Strategy”, in contrast to the opinion of experts that Ukraine is threatened with default.
“I have been working in finance for 23 years, and for 23 years I have been hearing about default. We first started talking about this in 95, and since then we have been talking about it all the time. Yes, we have a “CCC” rating and a negative outlook, but we have no reason to talk about a default. We will service our obligations, including the securities of NJSC Naftogaz,” Gonaterva said, proposing to abandon discussions about default.
Gontareva noted that the current position of the hryvnia suits the NBU, although if it were not for the last two months, during which the situation in the East worsened, it would have been much better.
As PolitNavigator reported, Ukraine received another tranche from the IMF.
