As NEURC member Andrey Gerus reported on his Facebook page, at a meeting on Thursday, March 19, it is planned to make a decision on increasing water supply tariffs for the population.
“At the meeting on Thursday we will make a decision on increasing water tariffs for the population. This need arose due to an increase in the cost of electricity by 30% since last summer,” he wrote.
“Mainly due to the devaluation of the hryvnia and rapidly increasing prices for electricity, which accounts for 50% of the cost of water,” Gerus explained.
According to him, the overdue debt of water utilities on loans from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the World Bank already amounts to about 1 billion hryvnia.
At the same time, Gerus did not specify how much it is planned to increase tariffs.
