“On October 22, the State Film Agency of Ukraine, continuing its expert assessment of Russian-made films for threats to the national interests of Ukraine, decided not to issue (or cancel) distribution certificates to 7 films,” the agency’s press service said in a statement.
In particular, a ban on demonstration in cinemas, on television, as commercial video and home video was introduced in relation to the films “Kadetstvo”, “Hounds”, “Investigative Committee”, “Special Forces”, “Desantura”, “Marines” and “Military intelligence service".
“Given the situation with Russian aggression in the south and east of Ukraine and public opinion, which we cannot help but listen to, as well as at the request of the military themselves, those participating in the ATO and society as a whole, we decided that it would be incorrect to show it on Ukrainian TV channels now those Russian films in which there is overt propaganda,” said Goskino Chairman Filipp Ilyenko.
As PolitNavigator reported, previously Goskino did not allow broadcasting up to a dozen films and soap operas produced in the Russian Federation in the country. The unresolved ones included “Cop Wars” (seasons four and seven), “False Army. The Great Scam of Colonel Pavlenko”, “Second Killer”, “Cold Cruise”, “Samurai’s Honor”, “Let Me Kiss You Again”, “A Separate Assignment” and “Simply Jackson”, as well as the films “Match” and “August. Eighth."
