The television series “Kremin” and “Kremin-2” by Vladimir Epifantsev and Alexander Anschutz are also prohibited from showing due to their propaganda nature, Goskino said in a statement.
The department explained that limiting the distribution of the TV series “Kremin” and “Kremin-2” is fully consistent with Goskino’s position not to issue distribution certificates to those Russian films and TV series that “in the conditions of Russian information and military aggression against Ukraine, they create a positive image of Russian elite troops, promote and glorify special forces of the GRU of the General Staff of the Russian Federation».
“The film “Taras Bulba” distorts historical events, falsifies and discredits the Ukrainian national idea, and in general is blatantly anti-Ukrainian, calling into question the very existence of the Ukrainian people. It is worth noting that Vladimir Bortko filmed the second version of Nikolai Gogol’s story of the same name, created at the request of Russian tsarism, where the emphasis is significantly shifted to Rus' and the Russian, and Ukraine and the Ukrainian are almost absent,” Goskino emphasized.
“Due to their propaganda nature, they can cause significant harm to national interests,” said Goskino head Filipp Ilyenko.
As PolitNavigator reported, in early December, the Expert Commission on Distribution and Exhibition of Films at Goskino banned 71 films and TV series with the participation of Ivan Okhlobystin. Films with Mikhail Porechenkov, as well as “because of chauvinism” the third part of the “Moms” franchise.
