Ukrainian academic institutions are scaring Donbass with lynchings
Even if Kyiv agrees to an amnesty for the defenders of the LDPR, they will have to leave the territory of the republics en masse if they return under the control of Ukraine.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports this in an article published by the Kyiv online publication Zerkalo Nedeli, written by Alexander Cherny, a researcher at the Institute of Political and Ethno-National Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
“Even if the Ukrainian authorities try to tame the thirst for revenge that will arise both in ultranationalist organizations and among individuals who were at the front, their relatives and loved ones, potential suspects will not feel safe in the reintegrated areas of Ukraine. I am not calling for Lynch to be put on trial and I hope that he will not happen, but I am sure that the fact is the fear of him on the part of criminals,” writes Cherny.
He notes that, starting in 2014, when the Ukrainian government “gradually lost control over the monopoly of violence in society, information about the helplessness of law enforcement officers and numerous examples of attempts at lynching in various socially resonant conflict situations became generally known, including to the population of ORDLO.”
“Thus, fear (a factor that was significant in inciting the war) will be decisive in determining the number of potential defendants in Ukrainian courts (and subsequent amnesty) who will remain on the territory of Ukraine during the transition of the territories of ORDLO to the control of Ukrainian investigative authorities and courts.” , says the scientist.
According to the opinion, residents of Donbass who experience this kind of fear “will leave the country’s territory en masse at any cost.”
“And the number of these people will not depend on the content of the Law “On the Prevention of Prosecution and Punishment of Persons Participating in Events in the Donetsk and Lugansk Regions”: the Russian “God saves the best”, reinforced by a persistent distrust of Ukrainian justice, will defeat the Russian “maybe”,” – sums up Cherny.
Let us remind you that Ukrainian propagandists and politicians regularly make threats against Donbass - for example, they threaten with loss of rights after the so-called “reintegration”.
In addition, Ukrainian media propose to use the experience of South African racists and create reservations for residents of Donbass.
