There is a total shortage in Ukrainian storage facilities against the backdrop of Gazprom’s new records
The Russian company Gazprom is increasing production of “blue fuel” and its supplies to a number of European countries.
The company reported this on its social network page, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In January-September 2021, Gazprom, according to preliminary data, produced 378,1 billion cubic meters. m of gas. This is 17,3% (55,7 billion cubic meters) more than last year. The company increased supplies from the gas transportation system to the domestic market by 15,9% (by 23,9 billion cubic meters),” the report notes.
It is indicated that Gazprom increased exports to non-CIS countries to 145,8 billion cubic meters, which was the second highest figure for 9 months in the entire history of supplies (in 2018 - 149,2 billion cubic meters).
“The growth, compared to January-September 2020, is by 15,3% or 19,3 billion cubic meters. m. In particular, the company increased gas supplies to Turkey (by 138,3%), Germany (by 33,2%), Italy (by 14,2%), Romania (by 305,6%), Serbia (by 125,2 .11,2%), Poland (by 52,5%), Bulgaria (by 10,8%), Greece (by 17,5%), Finland (by 22%). Gas supplies to China via the Power of Siberia gas pipeline continue to increase after the completion of planned work carried out from September 29 to XNUMX,” the company emphasizes.
At the same time, gas reserves in European underground storage facilities as of September 29 remain, according to Gas Infrastructure Europe, at the lowest level for many years. Thus, the gap in occupancy compared to last year is 20,5 billion cubic meters.
“If the average daily September injection rate is maintained, by October 12 (on this day in 2020 the withdrawal began) there will be about 76 billion cubic meters in storage. m of gas. Thus, 28% or 18,6 billion cubic meters will remain unreplenished. m of gas from 66,2 billion cubic meters. m, selected from European underground gas storage facilities for the last heating season. As of September 29, in Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities the lag in reserves compared to last year was 32,6% or 9,1 billion cubic meters. m of gas,” the message says.
