“This happy event in the lives of patriots was preceded by long months of wanderings and sadness, because the groom Dmitry Olkhovik is a Crimean, a patriot who did not find the support of his relatives and left Crimea by the first train available immediately after the occupation of the peninsula by Russia.
In 2014, the guy was drafted into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In January 2015, after the hell he experienced in Debaltsevo, Dmitry received shell shock and shrapnel wounds, and was in enemy captivity for about a month. By the will of fate, Dmitry was treated at the Starokonstantinovsky hospital, where he met a volunteer and his future wife. Irina Bernyakovich, having learned about a seriously wounded soldier who did not want to communicate with anyone, decided to find an approach to him. It was extremely difficult for the guy, because his family actually abandoned him, so he felt lonely. Now the newlyweds admit that it was love at first sight. Since then, they have never parted – Irina followed the fighter everywhere,” the publication says.
The publication also reports that after recovery, the militant again went to the front line, but this time he returned unharmed.
“In early February, a defender and a volunteer began wearing a wedding towel,” local journalists write.
In addition, according to the militant, his parents living in Simferopol recently began communicating with him.
“They talk, however, only about health; talking about war is taboo,” the publication clarifies.
