“In 10-15 years, the only salvation in the eyes of the majority of the local population will inevitably be the restoration of the independent Far Eastern Republic, annexed by Moscow in 1922, under the tutelage of rich China. The North Caucasus today is largely de facto independent of Moscow, from which it still needs generous cash injections. What if there is an equally generous investor from among Islamic states? And so on, and so on,” the publication writes.

“In general, the collapse of the Russian Federation is beneficial to both the West and the East, especially Ukraine. After all, Russia’s anti-Ukrainian policy is fueled by its size and resources, and therefore, global ambitions. The wreckage will be forced to reduce the level of ambition,” the article says.

In addition, Kiev sees benefits from the mythical collapse of Russia also in military terms.

“Even with the increased aggressiveness of some of Ukraine’s new neighbors, they objectively will not pose such a threat to us as an entire empire with despotic rule. The economic and military power of the imaginary Don or Kuban Republic is incomparable with the power of the current Russian state,” says the author of the publication.

Previously Ukrainian political scientist Taras Berezovets said, that in the coming years Russia will face civil war and disintegration, and Ukraine should take advantage of this to return Crimea.

At the same time, the former head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine Nikolai Malomuzh is convincedthat the collapse of the Russian Federation and its fragmentation into small mono-national states in the near future is unrealistic.
