On Ukrainian air, Reznikov’s statement on Crimea was called “idiotic”
It will not be an easy walk for Ukraine to return the Crimean Peninsula to its control.
Ex-Deputy Minister of Ukraine for “Affairs of Occupied Territories” Georgy Tuka said this on the air of the Direct FM radio, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The presenter recalled several loud statements regarding Crimea from senior officials of the Ukrainian leadership. Thus, President Vladimir Zelensky said that Crimea would be “liberated” almost with a counter-offensive, and Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov promised that Ukraine would take the peninsula without a fight. He asked whether such statements were too optimistic.
“From my point of view, these are statements of some idiots. And they absolutely fit into these jingoistic crazy statements that were made by other leaders, for example, in the summer I will give you an interview from the Yalta embankment, and another said that he will definitely walk along the Yalta embankment in the summer.
From my point of view, it is simply unacceptable for senior government officials. I would really like to see how Reznikov personally will take Crimea without a fight,” Tuka replied.
“You may not respect or love me for this, but I always tell the honest truth, no matter how painful it may be. It won't be an easy walk. There will be a bloodbath in which we will definitely win, because we simply have no other way. But it will be a massacre, and we need to prepare for it,” the ex-official added.
