The Ukrainian Ministry of Culture has not wanted to remove the paint from the monument to Prince Vladimir for six months - they say this is Klitschko’s work
The monument to Prince Vladimir on Vladimirskaya Hill in Kyiv, which vandals doused with paint in September 2016, still stands covered in red. The Ministry of Culture of Ukraine nods to the Kyiv city authorities and assures that Vitali Klitschko’s subordinates must eliminate the consequences of vandalism, since it is on their balance sheet that the monument is located.

This was stated by Deputy Minister of Culture of Ukraine Tamara Mazur.
“Issues of preservation, maintenance and restoration of monuments are issues that fall within the competence of the owner of the monument. When we talk about Vladimir the Great, this monument is on the balance of the city and the question of restoration should be addressed to the city. Washing off paint involves means and certain physical actions. The Ministry of Culture is the central executive body that forms and implements policy. We are not provided with funds to carry out any work, including monuments. But these funds are provided for in the local budget,” she said.
Let us remind you that on September 26 in Kyiv, vandals poured red paint on the monument to Prince Vladimir.
