The Ukrainian parliament is indignant: “The Rada TV channel has turned into Russia Today”
The main TV channel of the Verkhovna Rada has turned into a resource that serves exclusively the office of the president.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports this, speaking in the Verkhovna Rada during the discussion of the bill on media, said ally of ex-President Petro Poroshenko Irina Gerashchenko.
She claims that at one time she left the Inter TV channel because of blacklists and censorship, but now “Medvedchuk’s temniki are returning, legitimized in this session hall.”
“Because you created this problem, you voted that from the parliamentary budget more than 500 million hryvnia is allocated annually to the Rada channel, which today has turned into the worst propaganda TV, into such Russia Today, only in the Ukrainian version, where on the first in place is the president’s office, in second place are the deputies of the president’s office, in third place are the cats and dogs of the president’s office,” the deputy said.
She criticized the activities of the National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting
“Sorry, the National Council does not notice that the so-called good Russians are included on the so-called channel “FreeDom” and “Dom”, we have representatives of the banned OPZZH and Shariya’s party broadcast there, and the National Council does not notice this. Is this an independent body? This is what you and I should think about,” Gerashchenko was indignant.
Nevertheless, 299 deputies voted in support of the law.
