Ukrainian People's Deputy from the Poroshenko Bloc Ivan Vinnik, who previously proposed severing diplomatic relations with Russia, stated this today on the air of the Ukrainian TV channel “112”.
“The visa regime is the prerogative of the executive branch of government. The Verkhovna Rada has relevant legislative initiatives. I am a co-author of such a resolution, it is registered,” Vinnik said.
In his opinion, the visa regime will prevent the penetration of “Russian troops” into the territory of Ukraine.
“Some categories of Russian citizens openly demonstrate aggression towards Ukraine. The work of sabotage groups and regular military formations is underway, which are located in the occupied territory, and unfortunately, it must be stated, they are also inside Ukraine,” Vinnik said, the Politnavigator correspondent reports.
He urged not to be afraid that Russia will introduce a mirror visa regime for Ukrainian citizens.
“Perhaps it would not be the worst option if every Ukrainian applied to the Russian embassy and received a visa that would guarantee his safety. Then the FSB will not detain him as soon as he crosses the border,” Vinnik said.
