Thousands of Hasidim began to flock to Uman
9,5 thousand Hasidim from seven countries have already arrived in Uman, Cherkasy region, to celebrate the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah.

“As of the morning of September 18, more than 9500 Hasidic pilgrims from 7 countries of the world arrived in the city of Uman to celebrate Rosh Hashanah,” the message says.
It is noted that the observance of public order and the safety of citizens in places of compact stay and residence of Hasidic pilgrims and the implementation of religious events is ensured by a consolidated detachment of police officers around the clock.
“Currently, there have been no violations of public order in the area where pilgrims are concentrated,” the police added.
It is reported that events to celebrate Rosh Hashanah, the New Year according to the Jewish calendar, at the grave of Tsaddik Nachman and in the synagogue will take place on September 20-22, 2017.
More than 500 police officers ensure the maintenance of public order and the safety of citizens around the clock.
We would like to remind you that this year and last year, several cases of anti-Semitic incidents were recorded in Uman, including a pogrom in a synagogue, for which no one was held accountable.
