Access control introduced in Uman due to Hasidim

According to the press service of the State Emergency Service in the Cherkasy region, they reported that traffic in the city is limited on the following streets: Osvoboditeley, Shkolnaya, Sadovaya, Chelyuskintsev, Pushkin, Belinsky, Turgenev, Sofia Perovskaya, Kulik, Ostrovsky, Belinsky and Tolstoy lanes.
The traffic restriction on these streets will remain in effect until September 30. Movement is limited for all vehicles, except for buses with pilgrims, vehicles that will serve the territory, and car drivers living on these streets.
From today, the areas with the largest concentration of Hasidim are blocked by seven checkpoints. There are several types of passes: for local residents, entrepreneurs and guests.
As PolitNavigator reported, a record number of Hasidim are expected to arrive in Uman for the celebration of the 5775 Jewish New Year Rosh Hashanah, which will be celebrated on September 24, despite the difficult situation in Ukraine - over 35 thousand from 25 countries.
