The UOC-MP saw a good sign that Patriarch Kirill did not come to Putin’s speech on Crimea
Moscow - Kyiv, March 22 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) - The Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill, has to maneuver in order to maintain parishes in Western Ukraine: there, some churches stopped mentioning him during services because of the conflict over Crimea.
This is what the Ukrainian TV channel “1+1”, controlled by oligarch Igor Kolomoisky, claims.

“Previously, Patriarch Kirill was not mentioned only in Western Ukraine, but since the beginning of the Ukrainian revolution, a wave of discontent in the UOC-MP has reached all the way to the Vinnytsia region. There, too, they no longer pray for him,” the story says.
The UOC-MP told television crews that the Patriarch was against the entry of Russian troops into Crimea. And they saw a good sign that the head of the Russian Orthodox Church was absent from the St. George Hall of the Kremlin, where Vladimir Putin delivered his famous speech on the reunification of Crimea with Russia.
“In politics there is an opportunity to say a lot in silence,” said Metropolitan Anthony, a member of the Synod of the UOC-MP.
