The Ukrainian Orthodox Church responded to the arrest of the possible killers of a 64-year-old nun from Kyiv. Let us recall that on July 28, 2015, nun Alevtina (Kravchuk), a resident of the St. Florus Convent in Kyiv, was brutally murdered.

In his blog on the website Korrespondent.net, Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil published statistics of dead and injured priests and monks for 2014 and part of 2015.
As indicated in the blog, five people died at the hands of assassins or during shelling in the Donbass.
Three more were wounded or suffered in other ways while defending temples from violent seizures, as well as as a result of conflicts with representatives of radical nationalist forces, Anthony points out.
In particular, the fact of an attempt to forcefully seize the UOC temple in the village of Motovilovka, Fastovsky district, Kyiv region, undertaken by representatives of the “Radical Party” and VO “Svoboda” is cited. The pogrom was accompanied by desecration of the throne, obstruction of worship, and insults to the priest.
Metropolitan leads a complete list of casualties and deaths with details of the incidents.
In particular, in Lugansk, during shelling from the Ukrainian army, the cleric of the Lugansk diocese, Archpriest Vladimir Kreslyansky, died from injuries. Five children were left orphans.
The UOC is the largest Orthodox denomination in Ukraine and has about 15 thousand priests and monks.
Previously, the Church complained about the lack of steps taken by the authorities to investigate the forceful seizures of Orthodox churches by Right Sector militants and Filaret schismatics.
