The award was presented to the laureate by Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski together with ex-President Lech Walesa.
At the ceremony, in addition to Dzhemilev, speeches were also made by the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry Radoslaw Sikorski, the head of the Swedish Foreign Ministry Carl Bildt and the elected President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, who promised that Crimea “will soon become free.”
Let us remind you that the monetary equivalent of the Solidarity Prize is one million euros.
According to Dzhemilev, he will spend the money through the Crimea Development Fund.
“Also, I would like to lose one part, I have already spoken about this, about 100 thousand euros, to help the families of those killed from the heavenly hundred and those killed during the anti-terrorist operation,” added the former head of the Majlis.
