It is reported Polish edition of Do Rzeczy.

On Friday, the Seimas held the third reading of a package of bills that provide for changes to the law on the Institute of National Remembrance. Among them was a bill banning Bandera ideology in Poland.

The majority of deputies voted in favor - 279 out of 414. All deputies of PiS, Kukiz'15 and PSL voted for the project. Several opposition deputies also supported the document.

The adopted law concerns the definition of crimes of Ukrainian nationalists and Ukrainian organizations that collaborated with the Third Reich, as well as the possibility of launching, in accordance with Art. 55 of the Law on the Institute of National Remembrance, criminal proceedings against persons who deny these crimes.

For denying the crimes of Bandera, a fine or imprisonment for up to 3 years is provided.

The Kukiz'15 faction presented its project more than a year ago, but it was frozen for some time. Deputies were supposed to take it up in November, but at the last moment this item was removed from the agenda. According to unofficial information, then the discussion was about not introducing even greater tension into relations between Kyiv and Warsaw on the eve of the visit of Polish President Andrzej Duda to Ukraine.

The first comments on the Polish law have already begun in Kyiv.

“The Polish Sejm criminalized responsibility for denying the crimes committed by “Bandera and other fascist collaborators” during World War II. Tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, the majority of current officials in Ukraine, starting from the highest level, may be put on the international wanted list.

And most importantly, it is unlikely that the Interpol General Secretariat will consider these actions to be contrary to the Interpol charter. But even if so, these persons can be detained in any European country (!), not only in Poland, under a single European warrant issued in Poland. Like Dante - Lasciate ogni speranza, voi ch'entrate! The same thing that they wrote in the concentration camps close to you and our heroes: Abandon hope, everyone who enters here!”, wrote the former head of the Kyiv bureau of Interpol, Kirill Kulikov, on his page.
