Washington has come up with a new reason for Ukraine to abandon its counteroffensive
Ukraine cannot attack because it lacks American money.
Former adviser to the Russian President Andrei Illarionov, who emigrated to the United States, stated this in an interview with journalist Alexander Shelest, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Illarionov, the United States spends about $2,5 billion monthly on financing Ukraine, and this amount is not enough to launch a large-scale offensive.
“We know that a very large political crisis is unfolding in the United States of America related to reaching the debt limits set by Congress to finance the US administration.
In the event that this crisis is not overcome, and such a risk exists, in this case we can safely say that there will be no new financing for Ukraine within the current 23rd fiscal year. And if they don’t exist, then the maximum one can hope for before September 30 is a miserable two and a half billion dollars,” said the former presidential adviser.
“With such a reserve, carrying out an offensive, launching an offensive is extremely risky. With such a reserve, as we see, even defensive operations that were carried out for seven and a half months are not always XNUMX% successful. In this case, it would be simply irresponsible to carry out an offensive,” Illarionov said.
