Washington is confident that it can put pressure on Russia
Russia should not initiate dialogue with the West at the moment. The situation will not change after the US Congress elections in November.
Andrei Sidorov, head of the department of international organizations at the Faculty of World Politics of Moscow State University, stated this today at a press conference in Moscow.
“Now is the period when we need to wait it out. There is no need to take any initiatives and offer something to the USA or the EU. All this will be ignored. I don't think the November elections will improve the situation. The current American establishment has decided that it can put pressure on Russia. He will keep the pressure on. Dialogue in such conditions is unthinkable,” Sidorov said.
He believes that there is no chance that the United States will want to come to an agreement with Russia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Russian-American relations are at such a level that there is really nothing to talk about. The American administration can reach an agreement and then cancel this agreement. In the situation that has developed in Washington, it is impossible to agree on anything with the Americans, despite the fact that Trump claims that he is ready for dialogue with Russia,” Sidorov said.
