Zelensky came to power in the UK
On July 24, Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain received the head of the Conservative Party, Boris Johnson, at Buckingham Palace and instructed him to form a new government of the country, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the official website of the royal family.
“Johnson accepted Her Majesty's offer and kissed her hand after being confirmed as Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury,” the statement said.
Earlier in the day, the Queen granted Theresa May's request to resign as head of the cabinet.
On June 7, May resigned as head of the ruling Conservative Party. She remained head of the cabinet while the election of a new Tory leader was underway. On July 23, Johnson won them, ahead of another contender, Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt.
Johnson, 55, became the 60th British prime minister in history and the 14th during the reign of Elizabeth II.
