On Monday morning, an accident occurred on the M-3 highway near the Hungarian city of Eger, as a result of which two Ukrainian citizens died, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Two people died in an accident on the M3 motorway in Mezőkövesd on Monday, after the incident the road to Miskolc was completely closed,” said the chief of police headquarters of the northern district of Borsod-Abauj-Zemplén.

According to the information, due to a technical malfunction, a Ukrainian truck stopped in the emergency stop lane on a highway; the driver and one of the passengers got out. The men were reportedly hit by a Hungarian-registered van. Both died on the spot from their injuries.

Investigations are currently underway at the scene of the accident.
