It is necessary to purchase helmets and fuel - to think about how the Ukrainian parliament will work in the event of a blackout of power and communications during a large-scale Russian offensive against Ukraine.

The heads of factions of the Verkhovna Rada spoke about this during today’s Conciliation Council, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

At the beginning of the meeting, Vice Speaker Elena Kondratyuk took the initiative to hold an extraordinary closed meeting with the participation of security forces regarding the full-scale “aggression.”

At the same time, ex-President Petro Poroshenko demanded that the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky also join the event.

All speeches by the heads of factions were imbued with the theme of “Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.”

“Today, the escalation of the situation is killing the economy, killing people’s hopes and the last opportunities to establish peace on our borders. Our Western partners distribute money to Poland, to anyone - just not to Ukraine. Ukraine must get out on its own and fight on its own,” Vadim Rabinovich, a representative of the OPZZH, tried to object.

In turn, Petro Poroshenko demanded that 50 billion be allocated from the budget for military salaries, fuel and helmets.

“Since the beginning of November, the authorities have been denying the Russian threat and have not even bothered to discuss this threat in detail. This is very similar to desertion. Hearings on the situation on the Ukrainian-Russian border are being held in the US Congress, in the Bundestag, and in the British Parliament. The evacuation of diplomats' families begins. At the same time, the Verkhovna Rada does not interfere in the affairs of the country, remaining on vacation for five weeks. ...

It is necessary to withdraw 50 billion from the “great loss”, from reserves, including the IMF, and use it to increase cash benefits for military personnel in order to motivate veterans to return to their brigades. It’s not necessary for three years, you need to invite them for six months, when the danger is greatest and change the situation when the brigades are 50 percent staffed. It is necessary to ensure the purchase of body armor and helmets, to purchase fuel, to form emergency reserves,” Poroshenko called.

The leader of Batkivshchyna, Yulia Tymoshenko, burst into a panicked speech, not failing to call Donbass a “cancerous tumor,” as is her custom.

“Today, every Ukrainian family lives with the question of whether there will be a full-scale war or not, whether to take their families out or not. Unfortunately, diametric messages from the authorities - first calm down, and then Kharkov will be occupied - this adds even more turmoil, uncertainty and panic.

Today, a full-scale harsh campaign of intimidation and blackmail of Ukraine is unfolding in order to drive Ukraine and Ukrainian society, which has never accepted and does not accept the Minsk agreements and the Steinmeier formula, into a system of gradual loss of sovereignty and independence. This will lead to the fact that millions of “ballots” in the territory that are temporarily occupied, and then legalized, will lead to the fact that they will control the processes in Ukraine, and Ukraine will be a hostage to this cancer,” Tymoshenko became hysterical.

The head of the Golos faction, Alexandra Ustinova, called for preparations for power and communications outages.

“Understanding that we have the possibility of military aggression, possible blackouts of power and communications, I would like to see the head of the Ministry of Health and hear how hospitals will work to provide people with oxygen around the clock. It is necessary to hold a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council to determine how ready the evacuation and mobilization plans are. And we must understand how the Verkhovna Rada will work if we do not have light and communications,” Ustinova said.

“Destabilizing the situation and inciting panic are direct preconditions for Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, the creation of the Abkhaz scenario, or the resuscitation of a certain form of the Soviet Union that Putin is raving about,” said the head of “For Maybutne” Taras Batenko.

According to Dovira leader Vladimir Areshonkov, the situation is tense to such an extent that even Ukrainian youth and schoolchildren are in panic.

“The other day we met with residents of the border regions of the Republic of Belarus in the Zhytomyr region. Leaders of most territorial communities say that this topic is already widespread among children and youth. Already, schoolchildren in schools are absolutely seriously discussing possible options for an attack on Ukraine from neighboring countries,” Areshonkov said.

As a result, the faction leaders voted to hold a closed meeting with the heads of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Health, but Poroshenko’s initiative to call Zelensky was rejected.
