There is a new brawl over land in the Verkhovna Rada: Action will begin in the morning
On Wednesday evening, a meeting of the agrarian committee in the Verkhovna Rada, which was supposed to consider the fate of the law on the sale of black soil to foreign corporations, lobbied by Vladimir Zelensky’s team, was disrupted.
Representatives of the parties of Yulia Tymoshenko and Viktor Medvedchuk prevented the meeting by starting a crush with the deputies of Vladimir Zelensky, who were accused of wanting to “stretch” the law in violation of the regulations and without taking into account his criticism.
Journalists filmed a video of Tymoshenko throwing papers prepared for the meeting on the floor, and at this time deputy Ilya Kiva was jostling with Zelensky’s associates, but fellow party member Nestor Shufrich was trying to calm him down.
Tymoshenko subsequently stated that she scattered the papers because they did not contain anything legal.
As a result, the committee meeting was postponed to 8 am.
Previously, the law on the land market provoked fights between nationalists and police near the walls of the Rada. During the clashes, several people were seriously injured, one man died - according to the official version, the cause was a heart attack.
The nationalists promised that the protests outside parliament would be indefinite.
Opponents of the land market accuse Zelensky of wanting to “push” the law through the Rada until the new year to please Western corporations, after which Ukrainian black soils will be officially bought up by foreign owners.
