Last year's battle in Ilovaisk became an example of the heroism and feat of Ukrainian soldiers, whose names must be immortalized in the toponymy of Ukraine.

This opinion was expressed on his Facebook page by Vadim Denisenko, a Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc.
“A year ago, exactly today, Ilovaisk began,” the politician recalled. – The events in Ilovaisk are talked about exclusively as a tragedy, as a betrayal and incompetence of the military command. But they don’t say that this was an example of a feat of Ukrainians, which can be compared with the Battle of Kruty. Moreover, unlike Krut, we have a great positive continuation. After Krut we lost our statehood. Here everything is much more optimistic.
In fact, we should learn from the Russians how to change mass consciousness. The Black Sea Fleet lost every possible battle and was never able to hold Sevastopol, but the idea of great heroism, rather than defeat, was imprinted in the mass consciousness.
We should not moan about treason, but call squares and streets after the heroes of Ilovaisk. And in textbooks we primarily talk about the heroism of these people.”
