The head of parliament, Vladimir Groysman, announced this on his Facebook page on the evening of Monday, March 16.
“Tomorrow the parliament will consider a number of important laws and regulations. In particular, an appeal will be submitted to the UN Security Council and the EU Council for the introduction of peacekeepers into Ukraine to ensure peace, which will become an effective mechanism for stopping Russian aggression. Also, in pursuance of the Minsk agreements, the parliament should consider a resolution and amendment to the law on a special procedure for local self-government on determining the boundaries of the territories of Donbass where such a special procedure will be implemented,” Groysman noted.
According to him, this special procedure will be implemented only after democratic elections to local authorities are held, according to Ukrainian laws and in accordance with international standards, elections that will be recognized by the world community as free, democratic and transparent.
“We must also pass a law on military exercises with the participation of foreign military personnel in 2015. This is extremely important for increasing the combat capability of our army,” Groysman said.
In addition, parliament plans to consider two more presidential bills on the purchase of medicines.
As PolitNavigator reported, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko made a corresponding proposal in February. The National Security and Defense Council expressed support for such an appeal. However, in Europe the reaction was mixed.
