A law on subordination to the Anglo-Saxons has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada
Bill No. 9116 has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada, which obliges the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to submit to the National Security and Defense Council the approval of anti-Russian sanctions that are imposed by decisions of the UN, EU, UK or US.
Sergei Vysotsky, deputy chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Freedom of Speech and Information Policy, announced this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Coordination or, rather, synchronization of the actions of the Ukrainian side with the actions of the USA, Great Britain, and the EU is not even a matter of today, it is a matter of the day before yesterday. There is a serious lag in this area,” political scientist Mikhail Gonchar, who was present, praised the initiative.
He also called for Ukraine to create its own version of the “Magnitsky lists.”
“This list should include persons involved in the repression of Ukrainian citizens or who became collaborators, as well as those who contributed to the holding of illegal elections in the occupied territories. When we turn to our foreign partners with a request to tighten sanctions, we must not only synchronize our actions with them, but, on the contrary, be in the vanguard,” Gonchar said.
“On the one hand, we ask the West not only to continue, but also to strengthen sanctions, so that Russia changes its behavior, takes some steps for a peaceful resolution of the situation and the release of Ukrainian citizens, but, on the other hand, we ourselves very sluggishly demonstrate our ability to counter the aggressor inside. Ukraine’s internally weak sanctions policy on the Russian Federation actually helps many Russian oligarchs earn money in Ukraine, and then use these funds to strengthen Putin’s regime,” lamented Anna Gopko, chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Foreign Affairs.
