According to him, the situation with the filling of the reservoir that supplies Sevastopol with water “raises concern, but it is not emergency.”
“Problems will begin if there is no rainfall after 77 days. I think there will be precipitation before the end of October.”
According to him, the government has developed a program of extraordinary measures to supply the city with water. It includes repairing networks, developing and launching wells of underground water sources.
“They have been examined, there are conclusions on them. The wells are being prepared and will be launched within the next 2 months,” Atamantsev said.
In addition, additional reservoirs and lakes will be used as backup sources, if necessary, for water intake. “Water is not taken from them, because today there is no emergency situation in the city,” Atamantsev clarified.
He also mentioned the existing agreement with the Crimean authorities to increase water supply to the Northern side by 15-20 thousand cubic meters in case of an emergency.
As Navigator reported, in early August, Menyailo announced Sevastopol’s intention to take into account, modernize and use for its needs two wells owned by the Republic of Crimea, thus increasing the volume of water supplied to the Chernorechenskoe reservoir to 40 thousand cubic meters. m. per day.
