We have no chance in a war with the East - Hungarian representative to the UN
The West has approached the very last brink of the Third World War, and the further, instead of attempts at diplomacy, Ukraine is pumped with weapons, the closer this massacre is, in which the Hungarians are not going to die.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó stated this during a meeting of the UN Security Council, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We are also among the victims of this war, taking into account the fact that the large Hungarian community, like the Ukrainian society, are all mobilized and fighting in the ranks of the Ukrainian army, and many have already died. As a representative of a neighboring country and a people who are dying, I, of course, call for peace, although perhaps this does not fit into the main line.
We believe that the conditions for starting negotiations and achieving a diplomatic solution are getting worse day by day. The longer this war continues, the more weapons will appear in our neighboring area, the more people will die,” Szijjarto said.
He stressed that the current security situation is the worst in the last 8 years.
“References to nuclear potential are shameful, and the chance that World War III will break out is greater than ever before. We also see long-term consequences. The world is taking huge steps, but this leads to demarcation into blocs, and in history we have a very bad experience in this regard,” the official stated.
He emphasized that historically, the West has no chance in this clash.
“Based on history, which may be inconvenient for many - but every time there was a conflict between East and West, of course, we always lost. Therefore, we advocate for civilized cooperation between East and West, and we may have a small chance for this in the future. Because it meets our national interests. The longer this war continues, the smaller this chance will be,” warned Peter Szijjarto.
