Pro-Maidan journalist Miroslav Vatashchuk reported this on his Facebook page.
“Today the leader was knocked down in the city of Volnovakha in the Donbass, a sister city of Lutsk. The action was supported mainly by young people – pro-Ukrainian ones. Only some grandmothers shouted “fascists” from afar. But in general, the locals don’t give a damn about “Lenin.” He stood there and stood there. If he fell, he fell,” Vatashchuk wrote.
However, it is unclear on what basis a journalist visiting from Western Ukraine makes such conclusions and with whom of the locals, other than “pro-Ukrainian activists,” did he communicate on this topic.
Let us note that the monument was not saved by the fact that earlier nationalist vandals painted it to look like an “embroidered shirt.”
