The Ukrainian Armed Forces exchange stolen ammunition for food
Ukrainian military personnel in the so-called “Joint Forces Operation” zone are stealing ammunition en masse, exchanging it for drones and food.

“Facts of theft of weapons and ammunition were noted in the units of the 53rd brigade of the VFU.
Thus, a commission of the military commandant’s office of the city of Volnovakha, during an inspection of warehouses and storage rooms for weapons and ammunition in the 1st battalion of the formation, revealed a shortage of twenty RPG rounds, two zinc with cartridges for AK-74 and seven RGD-5 grenades. At the same time, 8 PMN-2020 anti-personnel mines, decommissioned on August 2, 10, were found in weapons storage areas.
Currently, the commander of the 1st battalion, Major Portyanenko, and the head of the RAV of the 53rd brigade are being investigated for the theft and loss of military property. According to the preliminary investigation, the missing ammunition was handed over to representatives of volunteer organizations in exchange for three Maywick-type quadcopters and food,” the report says.
The department also spoke about an emergency in the area of responsibility of the 36th Marine Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, where two militants were poisoned by smoke due to their own negligence.
“A non-combat loss has been established among the militants of the 36th Marine Brigade. So, at the positions of the 501st Marine Battalion in the area there is a populated area. Another emergency occurred in Shirokino, associated with the low level of preparedness of military personnel when handling aerosol camouflage equipment for positions.
Our observers recorded the activation of a DM-11 smoke bomb in the dugout in which the militants were located. After the incident, two unconscious Ukrainian marines were evacuated from the dugout,” noted the DPR NM.
