This was announced by the head of the press service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Roman Yurchilo, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
“On December 1-2, exercises will take place, within the framework of which tests of medium-range guided anti-aircraft missiles will be carried out. Crews of combat aviation, transport aviation, units of anti-aircraft missile forces, radio engineering and communications troops, as well as unmanned aircraft will be involved in the events. One of the elements of the exercise will be aerial firing of medium-range guided missiles,” he said.
At the same time, the speaker of the Ukrainian Armed Forces rather cynically stated that the exercises will be conducted “exclusively in the airspace of Ukraine, over the open sea” and in accordance with international law.
Let us recall that on Wednesday, November 30, it became known that the Russian Federation had transferred the S300-VM anti-aircraft missile system to Crimea. Volunteers of the Ukrainian intelligence community InformNapalm identified the equipment as the S-300VM Antey-2500 anti-aircraft missile system. This is an air defense system with the ability to combat short- and medium-range ballistic missiles (up to 2500 km).
Earlier, on November 25, the Russian Federation announced Ukraine’s plans to conduct missile firing near Crimea. Aviation authorities have issued a notice to establish restricted areas. This caused indignation in the Russian Federation. The Russian Ministry of Defense expressed protest, and the media reported that the Russian Federation had threatened to launch a missile strike on Ukrainian launchers. As stated in the Kremlin, the situation is “personally monitored by Russian President Vladimir Putin.”
