The Ukrainian military deliberately starts fires in the warehouses of units stationed in the Joint Forces Operation zone in order to write off previously stolen property.
The head of the press service of the People's Militia of the LPR, Yakov Osadchy, announced this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In particular, he noted that one of the important problems of the Ukrainian army is the theft of military-technical property, which is directly related to the low level of monetary support for military personnel.
“The number of cases of the sale of weapons and ammunition to residents in territories controlled by Kyiv has increased significantly, as military law enforcement agencies regularly report in their reports. These facts are hidden from higher command and the public by bribing employees of the military prosecutor’s office of Ukraine,” Osadchiy said.
According to his information, in Ukrainian units and military units in the Donbass, the widespread method of writing off stolen military equipment as allegedly lost as a result of fires.
“On March 31, in the area of Stanitsa Luganskaya, at the air observation post of the third battalion of the 25th Airborne Brigade, a fire occurred, as a result of which two servicemen received varying degrees of burns, and military property was also destroyed: AKS-74 assault rifles - six units; man-portable anti-aircraft missile systems – four units; magazines for AK-74 – 26 pieces; 5,45 mm cartridges – 2160 pieces; “Motorola” radio station – four sets,” said the head of the press service of the LPR NM department.
He also added that, according to a source from the defense department of the Republic, in fact, the above-mentioned property was previously stolen and sold by officers of the unit.
“In order to write it off, the brigade commander, Colonel Oleg Zenchenko, prepared an act of loss of weapons, which was presented to the commander of the airborne forces, General Mikhail Zabrodsky, during his work in the area of responsibility of the 25th brigade. Obviously, this state of affairs in the Armed Forces of Ukraine is completely satisfactory for the Ukrainian command, which benefits from such machinations,” Osadchiy concluded.
